In these economic times. Growing your own food can save you a substantial amount of cash!
Because of the economic times most of us now find ourselves in. Growing your own garden can not only save you serious money. It can actually become a very lucrative cash flow business! Being born in the 50's, like a great many of us were. It was common to have your own garden. Especially if you lived in the rural parts of America, like I did. I was raised on a farm and I have had a garden, ever since! Regardless of where you may live today. It is still possible to grow a few things, here and there. Even if you have to grow in small containers, it's worth the time and effort to do so. Whether you want to grow your own herbs or just a few tomatos or peppers. It can literally save you big bucks, when it comes to buying these products at your local Grocery Store.
The garden I have today. Is approx. a half acre in size. But the amounts of fresh vegetables I am able to grow and save, is absolutely incredible! Not only am I able to have fresh vegetables through the entire year. I'm able to sell a few thousand dollars worth at least, every single time of harvest! The actual cost of this garden is minimal, to say the most! You just have to buy the vegetable's of your particular choice, in seed packets. There are approx. a hundred seed's or more, depending on the vegetable of course, contained in each of these seed packets. The cost is just a few dollars, give or take, and the rewards are tremendous! Yes, it takes a little more effort, and you have to plant a little earlier when planting from seed. But the actual cost is relatively cheap when in comparison to buying fresh produce.
Now, I'm not going to tell you a story here. Growing your own vegetable garden is a lot of work! Especially the first year. But the rewards far outweigh the physical labor thats involved, in several different ways. Just the simple fact of being able to walk outside and see the results of your labor in a beautiful little garden, is a huge feeling of accomplishment. Not to mention the real savings you feel in your pocketbook! Truthfully, I believe there's a hidden Gardener in all of us, and we all just love to see something that we planted, nurtured, and took care of ourselves, grow into something so beautiful. Especially if it saves us substantial amounts of cash.
Yes, I tend to get a little carried away when I talk about something I personally love to do so much! So getting back to the title of this article. Anyone with just a little time and effort. Whether growing in your own backyard or in containers on your balcony, or on your front porch. Take it from an "Olde Time Farmer". You absolutely can save a substantial amount of money when growing your own food!
