San Antonio's restaurant scene is still bustling and growing as fast as the rest of the city is. Finding a great family restaurant here is pretty easy, and there are a few favorites that the community loves to patron.

Finding a restaurant that appeals to the kids, has good food at an affordable price can sometimes feel like a daunting task. Making sure the kids have a good time is a priority for many families, especially those traveling through San Antonio. Here are the best five restaurants in San Antonio that is a enjoyable for the whole family.

The Time Machine

The Time Machine is a fun and exciting theme restaurant right off of the 410 Loop. Each table has its own theme and most are in their own rooms. The restaurant staff is in costumes ranging from Obi Won Kanobi to Jack Sparrow. The soup and salad bar is a 1953 MG Roadster. The food here is good, the atmosphere is awesome! Just be careful if someone like Esmeralda asks you if you need to go to the bathroom, because if you say yes, she will sure show you!

The Cove

If you are traveling through San Antonio, and you only have time to visit one restaurant, The Cove is a must! Featured on the Food Channel, The Cove boasts an awesome menu. Oh yeah, you can also wash your car in their car wash or do your laundry at their laundry mat while you have your lunch. This is a high energy, always packed joint that is definitely worth the visit! If you are enjoying the River Walk, a great restaurant that your kids will enjoy is the Rainforest Cafe. Complete with moving animals, aquariums and jungle greenery, the place is eye candy for kids. Children will ask to get up from the table while they wait for their food, just to look at everything!

The Spaghetti Warehouse

If you are looking for a great family Italian restaurant, look no further than The Spaghetti Warehouse. This place has been around since 1972 and arguably has the best made from scratch pasta dishes in San Antonio. They also cater nicely to the kids with a kid's portioned menu, but your kids will be more drawn to the turn-of-the-century decor and the real streetcar inside.

Formerly known as The Blue Cactus, this restaurant provides an awesome balance for kids and adults. There is a play room, kid's tables, a doll house and train track for them to play with. The Wetmore Smokehouse and Saloon boasts the best burgers and barbecue in San Antonio, and there aren't very many that can argue with them.

Finding good family restaurants with good food and friendly service isn't that difficult to find in San Antonio. Of course, there is always that chance of bad service or a mediocre meal, but for the most part the restaurants on this list are tried and true and a great place to start your culinary adventures in San Antonio!
