Software reviews: Anti-Virus-1

I was having problems with my computer-major problems so far as I'm concerned. It had gotten to the point that I couldn't even log off or shut it down, and I still have no idea what was wrong with it. I just had to turn the power strip off each time that I wanted to log off. Then I would have to reinstall the Vista program before I could use it again. I had to reinstall it four or five times over the last few months, and have decided that I will put XP in it next time it happens, as I still have an XP disk from a previous computer that I owned.

Finally I remembered to go by an Office-Depot store and buy a different virus program. I felt like I want the best, but didn't know what that was. The cashier directed me to the aisle that had anti-virus programs on it and called for someone to come help me pick one out. They had a big variety at that store, and all I knew for sure was I didn't want McAfee or Norton. I have used a lot of different programs over the years and of all them those two or the ones that I dislike most. Those two seem to slow the computer down more than any other program does while working.

The salesman came over and showed me AVG first and another that I don't remember the name of. He told me the other one is actually the best in America so far as he knows. I do remember that the name started with a K. He then showed me the prices the best one was rather pricey-I thought. The AVG was only about $40.00 plus tax. Another major difference was the better one was only for one year and the AVG program would be registered for two years. That factor is what made up my mind.

1. I hate having to go buy a new one every year.

I would recommend this product to anyone needing a new Anti-Virus & Anti-Spyware program. It searches for Trojans, Worms, Spam, Spyware everything it seems and hasn't slowed my computer down at all. It has worked just like it is supposed to since I installed it a few weeks ago. I still don't know what caused my computer to have to have the Vista program reinstalled that way, but it hasn't happened again since I put in AVG Anti-Virus & Anti-Spyware

The fact that AVG is registered for two years rather than one year is another good reason to buy it, but of course the best reason is how well it does its job. I have no complaints about it at all, and it is unusual that I don't have any complaints about my antivirus program.

I set the program up to automatically run at 6:00 o'clock every morning. I think that is a good time for it to scan the computer as I am seldom online at that time of day. If I am ever online, it is because I have been up all night which occasionally happens but not often.
