How to pass the time on an airline flight

the clouds. Word puzzles and other mind games such as lab mice puzzles and Sudoku are popular choices among those who prefer mind games.

You may be traveling with a companion who does not mind a short conversation or game. There are topics you can speak safely on as you are within hearing distance of many and you probably do not know all th connections on the airplane passengers. You may wish to catch up on news of family and friends, discuss a neutral problem or play a quiet game together. Practice restrain, however, on politics, potential squabbles and mindless gibberish that may annoy other passengers on board.

Find out if your flight provides entertainment such as music and movies. Otherwise, bring along an ipod and spare batteries for a long flight or even a CD-sized movie player with earphones. Learn simple head, neck, shoulder, back and hand and leg massages that you can pamper yourself and your traveling companions with. These massages will be a blessing on long flights in a crammed seat.

If you are traveling with young children, you may choose to sedate them with a doctor's prescription or do the following: play games, entertain them with inflight movies and music, or look at the clouds if there is no glare from the sun. You self-conscnscious teenagers will probably not want to talk about things which may be embarrassing, so refrain from talking about their bad reports, family problems and your disapproval of their attitude, behavior or dress code. Instead, get them to talk about what they might want to do on the trip or back home after the trip.

Businessmen on the go would probably be planning their strategies for the next kill or working on their laptops on the flight. Be on the caution on doing sensitive work as your boss may not wish your work to be seen by others.

One final thing you could do if you are extremely bored is to take a stroll to the toilet and do a toilet inspection while you are in there.

Time on a long flight will seem a passing glance if you have ready hand luggage that includes a few items to keep you busy other than a new book. You will find yourself refreshed instead of complaining about the crammed position you are in. Think fun - or work - and keep cheerful on your next flight.
