Poetry: Near death

Inquisition

Has someone come for me?
Someone that will lift me
To the highest of mountains
And show me the most glorious
Sunrise
And the most peaceful Sunset.

Has someone come to claim my soul?
Shall I pass from mute darkness and agony
Into the resplendent ecstasy of
Morning
And the soft condolences of Night?

Has someone come to end my grieving?
A stranger that shall enter,
And leave me with tidings
Of myself and of the World.
An entity which will lift my
Soul into the Universe
Where I shall see and listen and understand.

Shall I at last be set free
From turmoil and chaos and hatred?
Will I walk among the stars
And travel on the breezes of time?

Am I now at the end of my life?
Is it time to leave my estate?
Is it the hour in which I shall be Judged?
What shall I become?
