If you don't know where your faith is, don't feel lost. In trying times like these with war and horrible things going on around us, always be stead fast in faith. You see, faith, like God, is a matter of how you feel. Having the faith to do something, even to get out of bed, for me and thousands of people like me, is a test of faith. To know that today is going to be the greatest day of your life is a testament of faith and how strong it can be. Like feelings, faith can be a terrifying thing. People have the faith to jump out of perfectly good airplanes and know they won't get killed. They're also wearing the right gear. There's a big jump between having faith and being ridiculous.
Faith can also be found in other people.. as hard as that might seem to be. I was sitting in a doctor's office, I had an appointment of course, and this woman and I started talking about faith and God. It seems, as our conversation to pass the time continued, that you not only have to have faith, but you have to have trust and believe. Wow. Well, faith is a good ground to plant in, and if you have faith the size of a mustard seed.. you can move mountains. Now, this doesn't mean a huge structure made out of boulders, or if you walk up to a building you can move it from one place to another just by having faith. You're not God, so be simple about the meaning. It means anything you see as a huge obstacle in your way can be eliminated or moved by faith.
Of course, faith isn't just limited to people or belief. Ideas are things people put TONS of faith into. Business, art, music, and about a million other things are something people put faith in every single day. People want to be heard. From the simplest things, to the most unbelievable ideas people put their faith into something hoping that their caterpillarwill soon be a beautiful butterfly. You also have to believe that it will. Having the faith doesn't make it so, but it makes it so to you. If a frost hits your caterpillar cocoon during its transformation.. it might die. My Mom put her turtles outside one night and a hard frost came. When she went outside to check on them, they and their water was frozen.
Distressed by this, she's very sensitive, she brings the bowl of turtle pops in and sticks them in the microwave under a paper towel, you know, to see if it will warm them back to life, and to keep turtle from exploding all over the insides of our microwave. After she wiped the tears from her face, she looks inside and sees something moving. Suddenly a turtle head sticks out from underneath the paper towel. Then another. She excitedly turns it off and opens the door to see three happy, slightly confused, turtles. After that day she renamed them Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. Guess she believed they had the faith that it was not their time.
