Jordan Creek Town Center is a two million square foot town center that is located in West Des Moines. It is aptly called a town center because it offers much more than just shopping. It's unique design offers visitors three different and completely distinct features: the shopping district, the lake district and the village. It is easily accessible from Des Moines and the outlying suburban areas.

The shopping district, and the village, offer patrons and visitors a chance to browse through shops in two different environments. The shopping district is more like a self contained mall in which all of the shops are centrally located in one large space. Entry into the various shops can only be gained by going into the district. The village features both large retailers and specialty types of shops, however, the design of this shopping area is open, and one can gain entry to any of the stores from outside.

The Shopping District:

The shopping district is somewhat like a mall. It is a two level enclosed shopping center that features a range of different types of stores in a "streetscape" type of design.

The Lake District:

The lake district consists of a 3.5 acre lake that is surrounded by pedestrian walkways and bike trails. At the edge of the lake, there is a boardwalk that is lined with restaurants offering different types of food and dining experiences. There is also an amphitheater and hotel in the boardwalk area.

The Village:

The village is different type of shopping area. There are large retailers and smaller specialty shops that are located in this part of the town center. The design of this area is an "open-air lifestyle" design.

Jordan Creek Town Center is an appropriate name for an establishment that has so much more to offer than shopping. The establishment boasts many fine dining restaurants, some of which are located along the boardwalk, and in front of the waterfront. Would-be shoppers who get weary of shopping can take a break to see a movie, if they so desire.

The streetscape design of the shopping district allows shoppers to remain in an enclosed area where they can explore the two levels of shops that are contained within this district. Anyone who wishes to shop in some of the well known larger retailers in Iowa can head to the Village where they will find Younker's and Dillards among others. There are also smaller specialty retailers whose shops are located in the village area.

Jordan Creek Town Center is the largest establishment of its kind in Central Iowa. Spanning roughly two million square feet, the center offers visitors, shoppers and hungry people looking for a place to eat a good meal in a pleasant outdoor atmosphere, the perfect place to visit. It draws people looking to go for a bike ride rather than work out in gym as well as those who would rather walk outside than stand in place on a treadmill.

This unique business establishment has ingeniously drawn upon as many of the average person's interests as possible. Uniting all of these in one place, the center has created a venue that is sure to draw nature lovers, movie goers, restaurant diners and shoppers, and in all likelihood, the center owners know that they can easily lure people back again and again.
