For example, you are recalling the conversation between you and the person whom you love. You keep rewinding and replaying every word he used to ask you out for a date. You are so happy to have a chance to see him again.

You wonder what you will say. You desire to say something clever and witty. You will discard a thousand and one sentences before you find an appropriately witty sentence. Then you will practice and practice mentally, to make it sound witty to him. You imagine him laughing over your jokes. You imagine him praising you to the sky.

When you are so absorbed with your happy thoughts, the last thing you want to think about is the fried chicken wings. Thinking happy thoughts can lead to weight loss when you are practically living in your imagination.

You do have many happy thoughts that can keep you away from food, and that will lead to weight loss.

You have put in months of effort, and kept away from all your favorite food to reach this stage. They may praise you once, but you hear many times, and keep the memories fresh by constant recall.

When you are happy in your thoughts, this will motivate you to keep away from fattening and oily food, and motivate you to continue your exercise routine. In this case, thinking happy thoughts can lead to weight loss. The motivation you gain from recalling the happy days, when everyone praises you, is enough to make you continue to lose weight.

You can utilize your imagination to think about the future, when you see yourself in those pretty dresses. You see yourself in the dress that shows off your slim body. You see yourself successfully lose weight, and gain the respect of everyone.

Thinking these happy thoughts can provide you with the motivation to lose weight. You are unlikely to feel the hunger pang when you are very absorbed in your thoughts or your work.

Can thinking happy thoughts lead to losing weight? Yes, provided the happy thoughts are not about the eat-all-you-can buffet. You cannot keep thinking of the lobster, the grilled salmon, the chocolate milkshake, the cheesecake, the strawberry sundae, and expect to lose weight. The moment you start to think about food, and how happy you are to eat and eat, you will lose the battle of shedding weight.
