Dependent upon where you are located some hikes can be a family day trip to a weekend getaway. All of the purposed best hikes are economic friendly fun for this day and age for single people and entire families.
The number one must see is the Aspetuck Land Trust. Apsetuck is has four locations in Easton, Fairfield, Westport, and Weston. All are equally as beautiful as the next. Aspetuck offers an organized hike schedule that are groups guided to the most magnificent of sights in the land trust. There are sights such as the Great Salt Marsh which gives one a chance to look back in time at the changes of our environment over the generations to present day. There is also Trout Brook Valley this gives hikers a view of the expansive beauty and colors of spring and fall in Fairfield County. Aspetuck is a lavish landscape with beautiful spring blooms of pink and white, the spring and summer flowers like the gorgeous lilies will bring a feeling of life to any hiker. The wildlife ranges from four legged friends to a bird watchers paradise especially around nesting time of the Osprey. The terrain ranges from a laid back easy hike to more rugged terrain to challenge a seasoned hiker, all the while becoming one with nature.
2. Collis P. Huntington State Park is the next pick this park is great for the whole family and has a number of activities to enjoy. Collis P. Huntington State park is located in Redding Connecticut in Fairfield County. It offers scenic view and hikes that vary in difficulty. There is a wonderful loop-hike that goes up Soapstone Mountain. Once at the top a hiker can feel as if they have stepped onto the top of the world the hike is 3.5 miles in length but it sure feels shorter than that. It is a hike that adults and kids alike can make together. Any hike through Collis Park in Fairfield county will bring great photo opportunities to a hiker so be sure to bring your camera to capture some fantastic wildlife moments.
