Novel excerpts: Self reflection

by Turi Haim

Created on: June 30, 2009

He is captivated by the invigorating toxicities of unfamiliar aromas and visuals. Reminiscent of a young boy distracted by the newfound discovery of a world away from home, he now explores with great conviction. The energy that flows through the night pulsates solely with purpose, as the worlds most imaginative and voracious turn heads with their jaw-dropping, exquisitely alluring value. The night, tonight, last night, tomorrow night, every night this week is all about value. Having value, finding value, showing value and by the end of the night, having more value.

She walks with the most elegant seductive charm, dripping millions with every step. Her confidence of self-worth, completely immeasurable in Euros, gets her more then just looks.

As she struts through the crowd, a queen for tonight, her intoxicating fragrance sparks up the nostrils of all those in the vicinity of her purposeful path. Her definitive presence, a high commodity among others, must be felt, widely known and linger vibrantly long after she's gone. With the essence of her being on such a high pedestal, she is disconnected from so many. Isolated, confused and alone she seeks attention but needs genuine affection. Her body, a true piece of natural beauty with all its smooth curves and highly coveted proportions with a captivating smile that sparkles up the night. Her effortless, inborn, gorgeous physique and charm is quick to attract the world's most popular lenses.

Soon the flashes fade and she passes another. Another just like her. There they stand; two stunning, rare, natural pieces of art. Maybe not natural, but certainly stunning pieces of art. Suddenly, the defining scents of other signature perfumes swiftly invade the air in close proximity. There they stand, in a flowing pool of hundreds just like them, stunning, rare, natural pieces of art. Maybe not natural or rare but certainly stunning. On the arms of men of value, there they stand; Pieces alright, pieces of art, perhaps; or more like trophies, prizes if you will, but only for the supreme men of value. Men with value based on their trophies and prizes.

There they stand, living trophies, hundreds of them, all on their pedestals above the rest. Each seeking attention with their stunning, rare, natural beauty and charm, completely disconnected from each other and disconnected from the rest. Natural, no. Rare, no. Stunning, absolutely.
