Here are some simple tips and tricks to help you lose that weight.

Set obtainable goals.

If you don't you will get frustrated and quit. The changes you make in your diet should be a lifestyle not a 'diet'. 'Diets' don't work because you will eventually gain the weight back.

Move!

The key to losing weight is to use more calories than you are taking in. Some people go to the gym. Of course others hate going to the gym. If you hate going to the gym find something you love doing like walking, volleyball, basketball, or dancing. If you find something you love, you will have a greater chance of sticking with it. Finding the time to exercise may seem impossible because of an extremely busy schedule, but small daily changes will help like taking the stairs instead of using the elevator. Remember: every step counts!

Don't drink unwanted calories!

Many beverages can consume an alarming amount of calories. Drink water or green tea.

Eat whole grains.

Toss out that white bread- it's not good for you. People who tend to eat refined products weigh more. Go buy some whole wheat or rye bread.

Find out and stick to a calorie count.

Find out how many calories you should consume based upon height, current weight, and how much exercise you get a day. A helpful tip is to keep a food journal and write down all of the food you have eaten that in a journal. It will keep you in check.

Just get rid of sweets.

If you don't have them in your home you won't be tempted to eat them. If you have a craving, find an alternative. If you love ice cream switch it for frozen yogurt. I know that sometimes it is hard to switch then go the French route and keep the thing you love, just eat it in moderation.

Eat slower.

It takes your body about 20 minutes to realize that you are full. Also, start out with less at the dinner table and wait to see if you are full.

Don't skip breakfast.

It might be cliche to say, but breakfast is truly the most important meal of the day. It boost you metabolism and studies show that if you don't eat breakfast that you are most likely to eat more through out the day than if you did eat that important first meal of the day.

Eat more fruits and vegetables.

Fruits and vegetables are low in calories and are know to keep you feeling full.

Weight loss is simply eating less calories than you expend.
