Amp Energy drinks often contain more caffeine and more sugar than some of their competitors.
Overall the kick is enough for the casual energy drink user to get focused at the desk or the computer, but not the kind of kick a regular energy drink consumer will come to expect. For that reason, you could save money and buy a bottle of Mountain Dew and get more kick out of that.
Taste -
This is where Amp Energy with Black Tea really shines. Sure the kick might not be world class, but the taste is quite good. In fact, it is better than Amp Energy with Green Tea by a long shot. The taste and texture of this energy drink is smooth and goes down easy. For those who like to pound down their energy drinks, the Black Tea version can be chugged down.
Pepsi may have missed the Green Tea taste with the Green Tea Amp, but they nailed the Black Tea taste down quite well with Amp Energy Black Tea.
The flavor isn't too overpowering and I found that there was little to no aftertaste. I wasn't reaching for something to wash it down with either. For those that hate the energy drink standard taste found in many other energy drinks, Amp Energy with Black Tea is worth a shot.
The addition of lemon flavors to this variety may be what makes this energy drink taste better than Amp Energy with Green Tea. I almost forgot that I was drinking an energy drink at one point, that is how well the Black Tea taste comes through in this Amp version.
Verdict -
If you want to try one of the latest Amp Energy Tea energy drinks, skip the Green Tea one and go right for Amp Energy with Black Tea. For hardcore energy drink consumers, the kick is a bit weak, but for casual users if could be decent enough. For those who need to sit still at their desks, this weaker kick might not be such a bad thing.
The taste of Amp Energy with Black Tea is the strong point with Pepsi's latest Amp energy drink and worth a try for anyone who likes energy drinks or tea.
