There is almost certainly no way to make sufficient money online in the short term that will preclude the need to get a real job. Even where it is possible to earn sufficient income online upon which to live, it is likely that the process will require a significant period of time in order to build the online presence which will generate the required revenue.

There are a great many schemes advertised online in order to make people rich beyond their wildest dreams in a very short period of time. The vast majority of these schemes sound too good to be true and that is for the very simple reason that they are in fact too good to be true. They will frequently require an initial outlay in exchange for the information designed to earn the unsuspecting Internet user their fortune and if indeed the individuals who operate these schemes do return any information, the information so provided is likely to be next to worthless.

There are also those schemes which promise to provide an excellent income through the taking of such as surveys or reading of such as e-mails. While these schemes are less likely to be verging upon being fraudulent, the reality is that the income which can be made from them - while often useful - is certainly not sufficient to prevent the user from needing to find another source of significant income.

The good news is that the above is not to say that there are not ways to make money online without getting a real job. There most certainly are but they require dedication, application, innovation and a great deal of time, effort and patience be invested.

Blogging is a way in which a great many people make a significant level of income online. They start by identifying a very specific niche subject which they themselves are interested in and know that there are likely to be a great many others around the world with a similar level of interest. They then create a blog on the subject, post extremely regularly to it with lots of interesting, relevant and unique content and sell products on the blog from affiliate companies such as Amazon and eBay. Google Adsense is another way in which they can make a reasonable level of income in this way.

Web 2.0 is the concept of user driven content on the Internet. Blogs are Web 2.0 hosting platforms, as are sites such as Squidoo, Hub Pages and Helium. These are all sites where the Internet user contributes content in different ways to earn in a variety of fashions. The content - as with the blogs - must be unique and targeted but very often these sites will provide the user with very useful tools to fully optimise their pages. This means that far less technical knowledge is required than one may initially imagine. Most of these sites also have very helpful advice forums where users can go for tips and tricks on how to make the most of their presence on the site.

It can therefore be clearly seen that although the process of how to make money online without getting a real job is entirely possible, there is no lazy man's way to success and that just as in most other areas of life, success has to be worked towards and earned.
