I have been asked this same question; "how do you make your life dreams come true". The answer is so simple. Jesus even gave it to his disciple even though many of them missed his point at first. Jesus said, "Pray our Father whom art in heaven hollowed be thy name, thy Kingdom come thy Will be done..." Jesus basically asked us to pray and be sure the dream is from God and then trust in Him to make it become real.

If our wills are totally committed to Christ, then our trust is in him. Through him a seed will be planted and will grow. This seed is the dreams for our life. I would warn people that Satan also knows our dreams and if we live a rich and materialistic life we can also be fooled to believe this lifestyle is from Christ when it may not be. This is why Jesus gave us the prayer. Before pursuing any dream, we must first test whom the dream is from.

The real key is is to deepen our spiritual life with Christ. The more we allow Christ to consume our souls, the more we will know his will for our lives. It is so important that our desires come from Christ, otherwise they will not last. Please allow me to provide a personal testimony here.

Twenty years ago I pursued a life of marriage but also began a career that provided a lot of money. I kept wanting a bigger and bigger house and more and more. I thought this would provide the happiness I was so desperately seeking. This was also motivated from a childhood of poverty and and sadness. Surely in my mind, poverty equaled sadness so naturally, richness equals happiness. All of my dreams were pursued without any prayer for guidance. I never once asked God what his will was. It was only seven short years until our marriage fell apart. By this time, we had two children. The child support was so high that I could no longer afford my house. Before I lost the house to foreclosure and destroyed my credit, I pursued a less expensive home. My pursuit was again without God but it was something I thought would make me happy. The builder I met up with turned out to be a crook. He manipulated ways to increase the cost of the house. He did so by brainwashing me that certain things would really make me happy. It turned out I could not afford this house either. Now I was in a position where I lost both houses and had to file for bankruptcy protection.

In addition to loosing my house and rich lifestyle, I also lost my lucrative position due to the downturn in the economy. I have been able to find some part time work in order to survive. I have entered into a much deep prayer life and know that each part time job I get comes from God. I am also involved in a group helping the homeless people. We provide them food but our discussions almost always turn to God. There is true happiness helping people whom have lost everything to smile once again.

In summary, pray for God's guidance in pursuing any dream. Pray but listen. Sit quietly for 15 minutes after praying. God will answer. Keep in mind, God does not have a time line and sometimes his answers take a while.
