The benefits of exercise is enormous and overwhelming if done properly and consistently. It is highly recommended for people suffering heart diseases and stroke, high blood pressure, non-insulin dependent diabetes, obesity, back pains, osteoporosis, and can help improve one's mood and better manage stress. A habit of doing regular exercise for about 20 to 30 minutes a day for at least 3 days a week can help in developing muscle strength and bone density and structure. Exercise can be both preventive and curable and it is beneficial to any age. Here are it's benefits on different age groups:
1.) Kids. In contrary to adult exercise which focuses more on getting healthy, fit, or ripped by going to the gym on a treadmill or lifting weights, exercise for kids is all about fun and play. Kids are generally active and playful and their exercise activities are different from typical adult exercise. Soccer practice, basketball games, dance classes, riding bikes, running, and playing tag are kids activities. Though it can be tagged as playing, active kids normally have stronger bones and muscles, leaner body, less likely to become overweight, have the lesser risk of developing level 2 diabetes, possibly have lower blood pressure and cholesterol levels, and have better outlook in life. These type of kids generally exhibit endurance, strength, and flexibility. Raising a fit kid reduces the risk of developing chronic diseases later in their lives. Parents are recommended to help kids participate in a variety of activities that are age-appropriate, establish a regular schedule for physical activity, incorporate activity into daily routines such as taking the stairs instead of the elevator, embrace a healthier lifestyle and be a positive role model to the family, and keep it fun so the child will come back for more.
2.) Adults. Adults are people who fall under 15-21 years of age until 49. It is generally in this age group that diseases and complications show. Statistics have shown that lesser adults are doing exercise regularly. According to Surgeon General, more than 60% of adults in the United States are not engaging in exercise in the recommended amount of activity and 25% are not exercising at all. OVer the years exercise is the most well known preventive and curative measure to chronic diseases such as developing heart diseases, high blood pressure, high cholesterol levels, colon cancer, breast cancer, and type 2 diabetes, reducing or lowering weight, build and maintain
