Imposter
The chronicles of your eyes,
Disclose an anecdote,
Hidden truths; Forgotten verses,
Buried too deep to disconnect,
From what is real; what is fabrication.
Unwillingness to seek the memoirs,
For what you have created; What you have destroyed.
Tearing down the world to build a new,
Least this one fails you; Least you fail yourself.
Countless lives you have endured in efforts to build a perfect you.
Countless faces you have worn to hide the man you once knew.
To begin again; to pretend.
Living lives of unreality,
False emotions constructing authenticity,
A misplaced sense of self.
Loving only what others love; to be loved,
In a fraudulent existence.
You are an imposter.
The truth alludes you.
