The do's and don'ts of texting in relationships

Just about everyone these days has a cell phone to stay connected with family and friends out side the home. Text messaging has allowed the progress of communication to be taken to a new level. When you include the art of texting to a relationship factor, real face to face conversation has taken a back seat. Relationships though they still communicate have fallen prey to the jumbled text each receive from one another and often sitting just feet from each other in the same room or restaurant.

Texting is the new fad and it has made it's way to new heights in the dating relationships of the cell phone madness. The relationship suffers due to the lack of one on one face to face conversation. Many couples that are in a relationship do not realize that texting can be used to keep the other person they are involved with from seeing their facial expression when they lie. It is only after the fact that a dating partner has scrolled through your message list and found out what you were hiding and not by accident, but on purpose.

Here are the do's and don'ts of texting in a relationship:

THE DO's LIST // KEEP YOUR CALL LIST CLEAR:

1) Keeping your call list clear can keep the prying eyes of a nosey or jealous partner from dabbling in your buisness. Lock the cell phone in your glove box when out on a date. You can always view the contents of missed messages at a later time.

2) When in the presence of your date keep your cell phone locked if you don't want to keep it in the glove box of your car. This will show your date you are committed to just them and not constantly being interrupted to return a text message. No one wants the attention of their date to be taken by someone that wants to know if they can borrow ten bucks. Distractions kill a dating relationship.

3) If you do have to send a text while on a date. Excuse yourself to a bathroom or other private place to send it. Texting can be done with respect to your partner. If your partner knows you rely on your cell phone to run your buisness, they will feel much better not knowing you had to answer a call or text while you were with them.

THE DON'TS // NEVER THINK YOUR CELL IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN YOUR DATE:

1) Men and women both are guilty of this fact of texting in front of the other. They think it makes them look important or popular, but the only thing it does is take away from talking with a real intelligent person right in front of you. Many couples will sit in the presence of each other and text each
