My day of rest eludes me
Body and mind beg to take a break
I'd rather exercise hours at the gym
Than chase kids till I begin to shake.

My day of rest is planned
Their dad says I deserve some peace
I'll settle with Starbucks coffee in my hand
Will that make my shakes increase?

My day of rest has come
Little ones cry and beg
Momma, take me with you
And grip me tightly round each leg.
