The term clairvoyance comes from the 17th century with clair meaning clear and voyance meaning vision. This is an ability to receive information about a person, object, place or event from a higher guidance, allowing the interpretation of these visions. Clairvoyance is quite well known within the paranormal world, although there are different ways of interpreting the information received, clairsentience where the information is received through feelings. Clairaudience is the interpretation through hearing and claircognizance is interpreting the information received though having a sense of knowing.

Everybody has these abilities within them although some people have a stronger connection than others to the higher realms. With everyday life these abilities have begun to be forgotten, although they can be awakened to connect to the divine. You do not have to be born with this ability nor do you have to be a different or special child who has always known they have these abilities. These abilities lay dormant within every person and can be awakened at any time within your life, you just have to make that first initial decision.

Connecting to the divine can be achieved through a variety of experiences and sometimes without knowing. Our guides and higher beings have great energies allowing them to pass on knowledge to us in such a way which we will be able to understand. People with the clairaudience sense can hear a voice as though a spirit is speaking into their ear although some experience this as a voice within themselves. The main psychic senses used are clairvoyance, clairsentience and claircognizance, with one person usually using more than one sense.

These abilities can be used for guidance generating information from a higher source than themselves. The psychic is solely a channel for interpreting the information received, allowing them to pass on this information in a way which will be understood by the recipient whether that be the person with the ability or someone seeking guidance.

There are many different views on how people with these abilities receive this information as it is not seen by others nor is it told to them by another person. Asking a clairvoyant how they do this is still an unanswered question as they themselves can not fully understand or explain how they do this. The people who have opened themselves to these abilities just know they can interpret the information received from another source, a higher realm of higher guidance.
