Trees stand
Tall,
Assured and deep
rooted in the dirt;
The Earth.
They grow taller and spread branches
That spread further and further each passing day.
Seasons change,
Years pass,
They inch taller and wider,
Their leaves become more lush,
More vibrant and full of life,
They breathe steadily and purposefully,
Live each moment fully,
They do not resist change but adapt to it,
They sway back and forth with the wind
And are completely at peace with themselves.
At peace with the world,
At peace with the universe:
I want to be
Like the trees.
