There are too many things I could say, and want to say about Michael Jackson. Yes, he was a pillar of the performing arts, if not the head, heart, body, brain, and mother.......that gave birth to so many of today's Britney spears, and Little Wayne's. The icons: Tina Turner, Rolling Stones, Beatles, Cher, Whitney Houston. All of these people are untouchable.....when he entered the stage it was different, perfect, precise, and regardless of whether or not you liked him, his songs, you stop and watch. The album "Thriller" is the best selling of all time.....the moon walk still imitated by me; I still can't do it, after seven years.
Two opposites died on the same day. Farrah Fawcett, one of the most infamous sex symbols, a sweet, brave woman who was not afraid of anything, and a hottie. Jacko, infamous icon, easily one of, if not the best performer of our time...........transforming into an odder person then I have met, deeply struggling with his image, forever. Michael lived in the beginning as America's young sweetheart, transforming to our Icon.... then earned the horror film name of "Jacko", wore a surgical mask; bore multiple accusations of child molestations, and too many other disturbing situations to count. "Everything has its beauty but not everyone sees it" Confucius........ Many fans or ordinary citizens remember only these things.......why? He is gone. What good does this do to stay angry to keep memories of the disturbing past; his songs are and will be downloaded from itunes, bought in stores etc. for years. At a point in time, the effect he had on the world surpassed him.
Crotch grabs, a single glove, a sharp thrust to the left then the right, is he going forward no back, a fedora slightly slanted these just Jackson moves..........are a one person bloodline. I am a fatalist, we create our fates as we go through life, why did Jackson die so young 50, seems old to me, but I am in my twenties, the centurion bracket is the most rapidly growing senior age group, why did he leave early? Much of what he was once in many eyes stayed in the 80's with Michael Jackson, and now, we where meeting a man named Jacko........he continued to spiral further. Moving to Bahrain? American support for MJ was dim, his overseas support was strong......his fan base still would overshadow many artists.
Artists' and close friends of MJ such as Quincy Jones pay homage to the icon, after his death. It is not just the media telling story's of the distance effects his death has on a select few. A few days ago before I had heard about MJ passing on I overhead a woman receive a text message from a friend MJ died, another woman's friend called for the sole purpose, but to report the death of MJ. It just may be that I was at a Kinko's crazed for superstars.. I doubt it
I choose to accept the good he left, there is so much. I enjoy his music; I will crank it up every time I hear "Billy Jean," and "Thriller," or any other MJ on the radio. Why not? We all should.
