Poetry: Remembering love

Stumble

I see the spider crawling across my wall

Or do I?

I am lost in that fog-filled world again

Forever falling...

Falling...

Yet I am no longer afraid

He scurries quickly to the corner, then up

And still I stare at the spot he crossed before

You were there...

Come back...

A faint tapping on my bedroom window

A beetle, perhaps?

I blink once or twice and

The daydream begins once more

Ah, there you are my love...

And still I am falling...

Will you catch me before I hit bottom?

Are your arms to cradle me?

Your lips to play upon mine?

Your hands to warm my fevered flesh?

No...

You're only in my mind now...

Oh, there you are, my love...
