Girls versus boys in the gaming community

And again, we come to another battle in the long standing secret war between the two sexes.

With the constant back and forth between what appear to be bitter rivals, we inevitably arrive on the sensitive subject of gaming; the final frontieran assumed den of manliness.

Maybe at one time or another I've felt a certain way as a male online gamer myself, but slowly and surely with the aid and assistance of a few headshots and Youtube worthy frags, I've come to respect (dare I say fear) the presence of the opposite sex on the multiplayer battlefield.

I'm convinced beyond any form of doubt that women are more capable than their male counterparts when it comes to the coordination and focus that competitive multiplayer games require.

Women are fully aware of the adversities they will face when heading into combat under testosterone fused circumstances and this only hardens their resolve when it comes to winning.

I can't count how many times I've been turned into hot mush by the artillery strike or grenade-cooking techniques of a female gamer on her way to a ridiculously drawn out kill streak.

Of course there will be moans and groans from male gamers but there can be no denying the cunning of female wit in the multiplayer arena. Imagine if you will the mixed feelings one would experience if in elementary school, budding men discovered a murderous girl loose on the playground with a dodge ball. Some would undoubtedly gravitate towards her under the spell of a seemingly all powerful hybrid-woman, while others would become upset and attack her. One thing's for sure:

With male focus turned on gender and not the mission at hand, all would suffer a swift and humiliating death, which is often the case online.

With the compiled focus of said female gamers and the inattention to the game that usually manifests itself when a woman appears on the battlefield, the judgment of the iron hand of she-power is usually swift and unforgiving.

It only hurts worse when a female gamer frightens you by popping around a corner with a shotgun and then genuinely apologizes for making you yelp like a helpless puppy into your microphone but that's neither here nor there

I've only heard of that happening to people

Anyway, next time you're in a match with a female gamer, do your best to stay focused cause I can guarantee she's not thinking about how cute you might be behind your gamertag.

Gentlemen, keep your head on a swivel.
