Living alone might seem liberating and like a good idea for a variety of reasons but when it comes to cooking for the lone self, there is nothing worse. Can you eat out everyday without falling ill? Or, can you really cook a meal for one? If the answer is a resounding 'no,' then it's time for you to get serious and start making yourself some healthy meals. Actually, there is no better option for you.
How much is too much?
As is often the case, singles eat alone. They also don't usually know the right amount of ingredients to be used while cooking for just one person. Actually, to neutralize the effects of one excess ingredient they might end up with more than the required quantity of the whole dish. The result is that, more often than not, they are forced to eat leftovers for days together. This is not only an utter wastage of money and time but the fact about eating leftovers is too depressing to even think about. So, it is essential for singles to know the right method of cooking their favorite meal.
Cookbooks and Help Galore
Now, it is easy to preach the benefits of cooking healthy meals at home but more difficult to actually do it. So, to help singles do it, the best thing you can gift them is a cookbook filled with such recipes. In fact, something as little as a leaflet full of ideas for healthy cooking will be greatly appreciated. They can draw up a daily plans by making a recipe chart or just draw up a weekly chart. The fact is that most people are not aware of the options available, that there is more to eating healthy than just munching salad or biting into a fruit. There is a wide variety of recipes to be unearthed from just the vegetables available at the supermarket.
It's All in the Mind
Hard or easy - is up to you. Maybe complex recipes are not your cup of tea or you are just tired after a hard day at work, then just relax and try out something simple. The day you decide to be adventurous is the day to try out something more complex. When you put your heart into it, it will surely turn out well. For some people cooking is another way of connecting with their inner selves. For singles, it can be more so, because they can really connect with their inner selves. Once you are confident of your cooking, you can start cooking for other people - the transition will happen faster than you expect.
Always remember that slip-ups will happen, but that's how you learn. It's certainly not the end of the world and most certainly should not be the end of the cooking journey for you. Learning from your mistakes is what brings your character to the fore. Perseverance always pays and sooner than later it will be dinner-at-home everyday!
