Poetry: I told you so

by Gerry Legister

Created on: June 28, 2009   Last Updated: June 29, 2009

I do not want to come back to you

Because I have found someone new

I told you so

But you still did not want to let go

I don't love you anymore

To go another step feeling insecure

All what we had together

It's over forever

With passion and pride

All the cruel things you hide

I stored them all inside

And every day I cried

For freedom

Until I became strong

You did not believe I was serious

But I suppose

You have found it hard to let go

Even though I keep telling you so

This relationship is broken

I have learned my lesson

And it's embarrassing

You've hurt me Time and time again

And I have told you so

You have got to go

You cannot be trusted

With all the emotions I've invested

Each time you ask me to take you back

The truth becomes a greater impact

And the same thing happens again

Been with you has caused too much pain

I told you so

This romance brings more sorrow

And the only joy I have found

Is when you are not around?

Even if you go down on your knees

Pleading for forgiveness
