How and when to use "Leapfrog" on Helium

Leapfrogging. Who doesn't like to edit their work? Who doesn't like to cover the aspects they've missed or to fill up the gaps in their information? To me, and I think I speak for us all when I say this, leapfrogging is an astounding function.

Newcomers to this incredible website may not fully understand the Leapfrog function and its features. It really is a rather simple add-in with a relatively simple process, too. To define what leapfrogging does in just words, the general idea of it is to edit something. You may have left out a line you were thirsting to put in there, or you may have misspelled numerous words because of a late night. Really, you should have checked over these things, but we all make mistakes in our lives. Leapfrogging can fix these mistakes.

Now leapfrogging is a mesmerising feature and is capable of doing various things. However, the one thing you wouldn't want to overlook is the limit of leapfrogs available. Let's say you notice ten articles that comprise of some minor misspellings. Now I am not saying it's wrong to correct poor spelling, but leapfrogging is a little farfetched. What happens when you make a genuine mistake? If you've consumed all your leapfrog uses over small happenings, you will have to pay the price when it becomes something big. Sometimes it can actually take a while to acquire another Leapfrog, depending on how fast you may write articles. This brings me to another point to mention: how many leapfrog opportunities you will have.

The amount of Leapfrog opportunities you will have is, in short, renewable. They can't restore leapfrog uses you have used before; however, you can gain new leapfrogs. The amount of leapfrogs available for a Helium user will be 20% of their total amount of articles. If you have, for example, 100 articles, 20 leapfrogs will be accessible. Therefore, if you have an abundance of quality articles, you'll have many leapfrogs available in the case of future problems.

When an article is re-composed and leapfrogged, it will go into a rating process and three people must decide on their preference. If you're newer article is decided at least two out of the three times as an improved piece of writing, you'll notice the leapfrog come into effect. This is the way in which others decide if there has been significant improvement. All Helium users should note that each article can only be leapfrogged once per week. You will not be allowed to exceed this number, but will be able to leapfrog a different article.

So what exactly should you leapfrog?
-Articles that lack substance.
-Articles with information that is not factual.
-Articles that could be regarded as 'spam.' For example, your article could be too repetitive in some bits, and there could be chunks of writing you could dash out.
-A piece of writing with constant and consistent spelling errors. The eye is not keen on seeing an article equivalent to a third grader's. Don't go overboard with this though! We'd prefer you be wise with your leapfrogs.
-Articles that get confusing in certain areas, leading the reader into believing something entirely different from what was intended.
-Articles written in a non-professional manner. A journalist could cover a broad range of common mistakes; and let's face it, no one is perfect! The least we can do is leapfrog our articles to improve in our ways. We'll remember that mistake for next time.

We all know leapfrogging is a handy feature, but we have to remember the golden rule: only leapfrog where necessary. After all, there is a limit to the amount of leapfrogs we can use.
