Poetry: Exhaustion

by Ember Nicholas

Created on: June 27, 2009

Love's here,

Love's gone.

Who cares,

I'm done.

I'm tired of the lies

and the so-called alibis

I'm tired of the pain

that I wear like a stain

I'm tired of a love

that doesn't rise above

but only cuts me down,

down to the ground

I'm tired of me and you

yes, listen, what I say is true

So I wish for you to go away

and don't come back another day

You're days with me have come to an end

For which I'm glad and so intend

to get back my life

without so much strife.
