About PETA's A-Team
First we need to take a real look at PETA, not just at what they say or propose but at what they actually do.
Statistics on their kill rate has prompted Virginia legislators to attempt having PETA's Charitable Tax Exemption repealed and to have them reclassified as a Slaughter House! Yes that is absolutely true.
Numbers show that since 1998 PETA has slaughtered in access of 25,000 adoptable pets. Based on their own records for the years 2006 through 2008 their adoption rate of all animals received is a paltry 0.52 percent. That means of 7,274 pets taken in, they killed all but 36 pet animals. 94.7 percent of the animals were slaughtered. These figures only represent the animals they killed on their site. It does not include the animals they picked up, killed and dumped else where like they did with the animals they were caught red handed dumping in a dumpster behind a Piggly Wiggly Supermarket in North Carolina.
During the trial for PETA employees Adria Hinkle and Andrew Cook testified that it was not the first time they had dumped animals in that dumpster. Furthermore they had a tackle box in their van that contained lethal drugs and syringes for administration of these drugs. Neither of them were legally licensed or trained to dispense these drugs or even possess them.
They had picked up the animals from a small local vet run shelter on the pretense of taking them to a larger shelter for easier adoption. The fully adoptable dogs, cats, puppies and kittens died at their hands and were dumped like so much garbage. Your donated dollars paid for that van, their salaries and those drugs. Hmm got your checkbook out?

PETA does not operate a single animal shelter but they do have a massive cold storage facility for the storage of the animal carcasses until they can be cremated. They spent close to $10,000.00 of your donated dollars for it.
PETA would like to abolish the ownership of any animal for any purpose. Pet ownership is akin to slavery of that animal in their eyes. I'm a pet owner/breeder and I'm here to tell you that the only slave in this house walks upright. Like many of you my beloved pets get to the Vet's Office more often than I get to my doctor's office. My debit card is affectionately called a kitty card by the Vet's receptionist. Like you, I pour over food labels for my pets more intently than I've ever done for myself or my human family.
They would like to abolish the use of any animal for food and that includes their milk and their eggs. I have nothing against Vegans but I'm an omnivorous like all my ancestors before me and I do best on a diet of meat, veggies, nuts, grains and fruit.
Peta contacted one of the owners of the Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream firm and suggested that they use human milk for the ice cream and leave cow's milk for the calves. Doesn't that sound yummy? Sounds totally insane to me.
I would caution all to do their homework before donating to PETA or any other Animal Rights group, because the Rights they are fighting against, not for are yours and your beloved pets.
Please know that I am against any form of animal abuse, I believe our laws are not harsh enough for those who starve, torture or kill animals simply because they can. I believe that all animals used for food should live in safe, clean environments and that they are slaughtered as humanely as is possible.
