It's very easy for most of us to remember Michael Jackson's extraordinary musical talent and his "untouchable" dance moves. And, it's probably even easier to remember many of his unfortunate life experiences in more recent years. But, what I challenge us all to concentrate on most and to share with the world is the fact that Michael Jackson was a compassionate and passionate humanitarian.
Michael was a unique individual, true - but in that uniqueness, he always expressed his love for life, for people, for many ills of the world and he wrote songs and made many speeches to young and old alike challenging us all to love one another, to share life with one another, to live life to its fullest. Michael even attempted to created his own "utopia" in designing and creating Neverland Ranch - that was one of his efforts to live in a life free of stress and strife and to allow others to come and do the same.
Michael believed wholeheartedly that life was simple and to be enjoyed by all. He never really realized that there was cruelty in the world and that people didn't always get along. In Michael's world . . . ..the world should be one, big, happy family and there shouldn't be any hurt and evil. Wouldn't the world be a much better place if this could actually be accomplished?
Michael's desire to create and live in a simple and pleasant world continued for most of his life. For many years, he appeared to live in such a world. Most of can probably remember that for many years, he was constantly surrounded by his family and friends and he was happy much of the time. We all know that things began to take a turn for the worse later in life and, unfortunately, he suffered many challenges over recent years. We all watched many situations unfold all over nationwide television for many years and we all had our various opinions concerning each. And, none of us REALLY can say what actions ACTUALLY took place and which ones did not. We should never venture an opinion without facts.
Just like all of us, Michael was a human being with heart and soul and he wanted to live his life and be treated like another human being. He began his life as a "pop star" very early, which many of can't imagine as it is. With that came many struggles and many hard times for he and his family. He endured as best he knew how and he shared his talents and gifts with the world to the best of his ability. He wanted to bring love and music into the lives of everyone he came in contact with and he did just that for many years.
Michael Jackson was an EXTRAORDINARY musician, dancer, humanitarian and he should be remembered as such! We pray for his spirit to FINALLY rest in peace and pray for healing and strength for his family and loves ones!
