As a lover of many genres, fantasy is definitely one of my favorites. As of late, many of the fantasy books I have no less than devoured, the most notable of those would have to be the Riley Jenson Guardian novels. This is a dark urban fantasy book series that also contains elements of romance. Though I have not finished the series, if the first few books are anything to judge by, I will enjoy the rest even more. Author Keri Arthur combines plenty of fast paced action as well as a strong female heroine. Riley Jenson works for the Directorate of Other Races - an organization that polices the non-human races in Melbourne, Australia. She is a werewolf-vampire hybrid who is dangerously susceptible to the moon heat. Throughout the series she finds herself in a variety of sticky situations in which her life is in imminent danger. There have been seven books released in this series, and an eight soon to come. If you love any combination of fantasy, romance, and supernatural elements, this series is a must read.
Full Moon Rising, the first installment of the series, is a steamy introduction to a new breed of sexy. Kissing Sin is the second installment of the series, and no less captivating than the first. Riley wakes up naked in a dark alley, bruised and completely unaware of what events led to her situation. Within minutes of waking, she finds herself face to face with an enemy the likes of which she has never encountered. When faced with the vilest of intentions, Riley and at least a dozen others, including a dangerously seductive horse-shifter, Kane, must fight their way free. As always, Arthur delivers a breathtaking mixture of fiery passion and fast paced action. Blood runs hot between Riley and her newfound stallion, but a sinful and stubborn Quinn is back and still as stubborn and irritating as ever. In Kissing Sin, Arthur brings to light revelations of Riley's past and future as well as a scorching new heat with newfound lovers.
