Should we believe the concept of the Trinity

Should we believe in the concept of the Trinity? You want to ask me, "how can Jesus be a man and be God?" The concept is hard. It is a struggle. After all, Jesus was on earth being baptized when God spoke to Him from above. The oneness that Jesus continually referred to is cause for reflection. My personal bane: worship requires thought.

Thoughtfully, over years of personal belief, in faith and without a complete answer, I took the same question to every preacher I met: Explain the Holy Trinity. I didn't understand. The struggle made it impossible to understand. The answers I always received were pretty much the same and incomplete. Let me tell you now, I can't give you a complete answer either, so I commend every preacher that ever tried to explain this concept to me. What I heard from them was: God and Jesus are one because the Bible says so. That answer was too standard and rebellious for me to accept. They might as well have said, "believe because I tell you to."

I could tell you some faith stories in my own life. I have faith. But these faith stories do not explain the Holy Trinity. I was missing something and I knew it because every time I applied this concept to creative or logical thinking, it landed like another question. I needed to find peace in my own heart about it to even share the concept with anyone else. How can you believe and not talk about your beliefs? This one tongue-tied me.

Jesus made many statements through parables, traditions, miracles, healings, speeches, example and more. He is so awesome that we cannot comprehend His greatness. Everything He did was done for many different reasons and for more than one person. So I offer only one of the reasons why Jesus kept referring to the Father and His oneness. Jesus wants you to know your own connection to God. You are part of a family - God's family. A team. You are one with God in family unity. Jesus is one with God.

The rest of it, I will humbly leave up to the scholars. They know what I do not. I just know that Jesus is telling us how to approach our relationship with God. Live to be at one, in harmony, united with Him. Accept your relationship to Him. Embrace with love and oneness. Oneness means the position of being united or in agreement. The statement is powerful and large, but it definitely speaks of relationship.

Understanding that God is far greater than I, thinks higher than I, is higher than I, I will say no more because I am not qualified.
