Your Name Was The Song
Alone in this world, how my spirit does ache,
It's another music to which I belong.
My soul does yearn and my heart must break
For you were the music; Your name was the song.
I've walked so long in this land of dark shadows
And fought the despair of my own soul too.
When will my pain return to the darkness
From where it had come when I lost you?
How long must I sit by this dry empty well?
How long must I abide in this world's hell?
No longer can I dream as I did once before.
No longer when I knock will you open the door.
What magic was this that I loved you so much?
The joy of my body was hostage to your touch.
Yet my soul said no and my dreams fell wrong
My heart can't sing for your name was the song.
