If ever I have loved you
Forever you'll roam alone
Within the fate of solitude
That which I have known
If ever I have wanted you
You have yearned for something new
All the while unknowing
My soul burned for only you
If ever I have needed you
That time was yesterday
As your voice; your scent; your sinful smile
Seemed to melt away
If ever there was truly an hour
When I had to pretend to be tough
If ever I possessed the truest of power
You would come home; love would be enough
