The word Timeshare can evoke so many different discussions and emotions from people, and its value is something that is constantly debated. If you are considering anything regarding timeshares whether it be purchasing one, selling one, or simply taking a vacation offer at one there are a number of things to consider.

If you're new to timeshare vacations, one thing to keep in mind is that there usually isn't daily housekeeping there may be an additional fee If you want the housekeeping staff to come in during your stay. Be sure to inquire what the resort's policies are about things like how often your linen and bedding can be changed, and about housekeeping staff coming in to tidy your room. With most resorts going green and being ecologically conscious, you may have to pay extra if you want your towels and sheets changed.

Most timeshare presentations run about 2 hours, even if they tell you only ninety minutes! The resort might offer you breakfast, followed by a presentation about vacation and resort opportunities, and a tour of the rooms. The accommodations can vary, with most resorts offering studio-sized units with kitchenettes, to 1, 2, 3, and even 4-bedroom suites that have full kitchens, washers and dryers, balconies, private decks, fireplaces, Jacuzzis, and more. The sales rep will joke around and try to convince you this is ideal for you, and that it is much like purchasing a second home, but more affordable than actually doing so. After your tour, you will be presented with the price tag. This is the point in which you must be your own salesperson. Be firm and insistent if you are not interested. If you are interested, try to get as many bonuses as possible. Resorts often offer discounted purchase pricing, free vacations, vouchers for dining, and other incentives if you purchase on the day of your visit.

If you are serious about purchasing a timeshare, there are a number of ways you can do so. Most people will go directly to the resort (often called the developer) and purchase there. Others purchase through the resale market, which means the buy it from current owners who are selling it, real estate agencies like ReMax, or even online auctions. Check out eBay! It has hundreds of timeshares available. Just be sure to do your research and make sure the timeshare you're purchasing has what you're looking for! Keep in mind you will have maintenance fees to pay for the lifetime of your ownership.
