Poetry: Experiencing nature

Pebble Jacks And Daisy Chains

Fluffy clouds float in buoyant throng

Which shards of sunlight underscore

Birds perched high in twittering song

Enthrals me deeply within my core

Dew spangled grass so softly I tread

Skimming stones along silken waterside

Golden stream reflecting yellow spread

Where proud glossy rocks refuse to hide

Oh such thrill of nature's playtime toys

Gives us pebble jacks and daisy chains

Coloured petals of fragrant floral joys

Surely we know our freely given gains

Gently blown kissed rustling leafy trees

Mirrored too within stream of liquid gold

Is that love whispering upon the breeze

As in my sight natures golden gift I hold

Closing my eyes to overwhelming visions

Imprinting upon my mind so as not to part

From my memory the dancing sunlit prisms

Of gold strewn hues which flood my heart
