Camping in Western Canada is a lucrative industry. The scenery and natural beauty in Canada's west is without rival, and many people enjoy spending time in the great outdoors. The 2010 Olympics have given many people a glimpse into the breathtaking beauty that is British Columbia, the farthest west province in Canada. Camping in Canada's west is an enjoyable experience that will not soon be forgotten.
The landscape in Western Canada is among the most scenic and beautiful in the entire world. With lush mountainous backdrops, lofty peaks and cavernous lows, there is a little bit of everything spanning across the west. British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba make up the western portion of Canada, and there are many great places to enjoy a vacation while camping.
Depending on what type of camping you wish to engage in, there are many viable options for a great adventurous vacation. If you like to rough it and camp in tents and live off of the land, or if you use and RV, you can find some of the best sites in North America right in Western Canada. Some people consider camping to be a four star hotel without room service, but for those that like to put on a pair of hiking shoes and fish, then the great outdoors in the Western Hemisphere of Canada offers some great sites.
Moose Mountain Provincial Park in Kenosee Lake, Saskatchewan, is a popular site to visit, and it offers many options for camping. There are many sites to pitch tents, sites to park your RV, rent a cabin or a hotel room. This has been a popular destination for decades, and there are all sorts of amenities right on site to better serve you and your travel companions.
Lake Louise Campground in Alberta is a beautiful spot to camp, and they have over 200 sites available to stay on with your tents. This area is heavily forested which offers forth a pretty background while you are roughing it on your site. There are many hiking and bicycling trails for the adventurous sort that enjoys getting active while on vacation.
Camping is a personal thing, and what makes one person enjoy a particular site does not always mean that other people are going to like the same sites. Some campgrounds feature beautiful sandy beaches, and serene water gently touching down on shore. Other campgrounds offer more privacy, shade, amenities, or proximity to local grocery stores. The plain and simple truth is that Western Canada has an awful lot of breathtaking scenery and great camping sites.
Depending on which region you are in, and in which province, due to the massive size of Canada, you will be able to find any number of great campgrounds. With a little bit of research, you will be able to better gear yourself toward the vacation destination of your choice that will suit your particular wants and needs.
