When you have a crush on someone, do you really know why you have a crush on that person? If you don't know why you are having feelings for someone, it might be best to not do too much with them. Often times we have feelings for someone, only to see those feelings vanish when the relationship either ends, or you lose interest in the person that you were pursuing so hard just a short time ago. I always learned this the hard way when I was younger, that sometimes you shouldn't chase the first thing you see.

When you are going after someone, you might only be doing so because they are interested in you. How many times have you gone out with someone merely because you knew that they liked you, and were going to give them a shot? Is that really having feelings for someone, or is that just doing something because you don't have to actually risk failling? While it might be an easy way to score a relationship, it might lead to some dead ends later on.

The best way to figure out if you really have feelings for someone is to just stop caring about them for a minute. Pretend that you aren't pursuing them, and you are just on your own looking. Do you still come back to the same conclusion? Do you still feel like this person is the best that you can do right now? Are you willing to put in the time and effort that you will need to make the first few months of the relationship work out?

What do you feel like when you are around this person? Do you feel excited just to talk to them, or do you just feel the same? Is your life any better when they are around, are you excited about being with them? If not, you might want to go find someone else to be with, as you probably don't really have feelings for them.

Chances are you will enjoy talking to this person about anything if you have feelings for them. Do you get annoyed when they don't answer a phone call, or a text right away? Do you not feel like the day is the same if you don't talk to this person? If so, you probably do have some kind of feelings for them, and you should go ahead and see what exactly would happen between the two of you.

If you have feelings for someone, you will know it. You will feel different, and you will feel something special for this one particular person that you don't feel for other people. They say love is a chemical reaction, and so I think that if we really do like someone our bodies will tell us. Maybe that's the best way to figure it out, but short of that I think we know when we feel something for someone.
