When transitioning from high school to college, there is a large change in academia, both from the responsibility and the expectations. To adequately make this transition smooth, a high school student should figure out the best way for them to study effectively, what their sleep requirements are, and how to assume a greater responsibility and ownership of their work.

Learn to handle constructive criticism, and to embrace its true intent. Keep in mind that if you do as you've always done, think as you've always thought, and act as you've always acted, then you will get what you've always got.

This is important, because a student that is transitioning from high school to college needs to be ever evolving as a student. In the game of life, we are students right to the bitter end. We should always strive to be improving and learning new methods along our journeys.
