Congratulations! You have now graduated high school and are in the process of shopping for the necessities to fill your new dorm room while you are away at college. You know your own style, but else is there to consider when choosing your bedding? Here are just a few of the things that I would recommend being a college student myself.
Durability
Now I know what you are thinking, why does my bedding have to be durable? I can just buy a new set each year and be done with it. But here is the flip side of things. While you may be willing to buy a new bedding set for every year that you are in college, you need to make sure that you are picking out bedding that will last you through the school year. You might think that just any bedding will do, but you also need to thing about all of the things that your bedding will be going through. When you are in college, your bed can serve as a variety of things, including a desk, a table, a couch, a trampoline, and a place to lie your head at night. Is your bedding ready to stand up to all of that?
Washablility
So now that you know what all your bed will be used for, the next important thing to figure out is how to wash your bedding. Do you really want to buy bedding that has to be washed a certain way? Or what about buying something that just might not stand up to the washing machine. I know I would not prefer to try to hand wash any kind of bedding in the bathrooms that were in my dorms.
Style
So you have picked out a bedding that you like now. But have you thought about what you are going to think about this bedding choice in three months? Are you still going to be happy that you made a statement with your Carebears bedding, or would you be happier with a cute polka-dot set? This is defiantly something that you are going to want to think out ahead of time.
Cost
The final and maybe most important thing that you are going to want to consider is the cost of the bedding that you are looking at. You are now a college student, so welcome to the world of broke. How much is this bedding choice going to drain out of your grocery money for the month? Or, how upset are you going to be when something is spilt on your two hundred dollar bed set? Definitely take the time to take cost into consideration when picking out your bedding.
Now that you know a few things to look for when choosing your dorm bedding, I want to wish you luck finding one that suits you. Just remember to take all of the above into consideration when making your choice so that you do not make a buying decision that you are going to regret.
