Water intake's impact on weight loss

All throughout America, people are struggling with their weight, trying to get it down to more reasonable levels. Quite a bit of people when they start losing weight, they start at a rather steady level. But then after a few days, their weight loss slows down and in some cases even stops. What people may not realize is that water plays a big role in losing weight. In fact a lot of the weight you lost was not fat but water. The body responded to the water loss and started retaining the water. Many people have struggled with this point in weight loss and while they may not have necessarily given up, they often found themselves either at the same level they were when they started or at a worse level.

Here's one secret that helps. Increase water consumption. If you replenish your water, your body will burn more fat. Most diet plans advise you to drink plenty of water. Studies have shown that human metabolism has increased by 30% with increased water intake. 40% of that increase in metabolism is the result of the body trying to heat up the consumed water. These findings were reported in the December issue of The Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism Your muscles will also benefit from water and they also play a part in burning fat so while you are trying to burn fat, it is also good to build muscle. The more muscle you build, the faster you can burn fat. Also, drinking more water causes you to feel full and lowers the risk of overeating. It does good for your complexion too. Water flushes out toxins, making you more vibrant and can do wonders for your face, making it smoother. It also can help with eyesight to an extent. If your water intake is too low, you will be dehydrated.

Dehydration will affect your breathing, and muscle function. Your kidneys will take a blow too because it filters out all the poisons and toxins and your kidneys need water to function. Dehydration can be fatal after a while. Without water, your kidneys will ultimately fail meaning death for the individual. But it is also possible to drink too much water. The result would be water intoxication. It is good to replenish nutrients with your water especially electrolytes.

Anyone who struggles with weight problems or otherwise want to be more fit would do well to drink a healthy amount of water. You'll age better, you'll live longer. Ultimately it won't hinder you from reaching your goal of being fit.
