Poetry: The poetic one

by Janay Walker

Created on: June 25, 2009

he gave me poetry
it was like my sugar
i poured it over my insipid cereal
and devoured it like it was expensive chocolate candy
it didn't have a chance to melt in my hand
because it had already been feverishly consumed by my heart
when he finished giving me the fix to my sweet tooth
i realized the craving lingered
i wanted him to buy me a poetic candy store
just so I could selfishly be that kid let loose.
