Twilight breaks upon night's shadow as I wake from dreams that beguile a restful slumber.

Thoughts that drift along the passageways of time share an equal burden from guilt's heavy baggage.

A night so long ago and yet, that night of sorrow lingers, encased within the heavy walls of contrician.

I ponder that day, weighing on my mind like an anvil whose weight I bear upon my chest.

You came to me that fateful night with lightness in your heart and love within your soul.

Your love confessed for me that night was meant to free you from the tempest that lived within. To express your love and to have me convey mine with returning pleasure as a sign of everlasting committment.

Yet, without a glance I crushed your hope for loves sweet song and forever damned your heart to solitude.

You offered your soul to heavens gate that night, a night that will forever bear upon my soul.

Why must I have been so cruel? What demon from hells fire awakened that response and forever doomed my mind to guilts harsh penance?

My mind awakens now. The sun's warm light dims the shadows of guilt hidden behind nights curtain.

Release me now oh guilt bearing specter. Rest my mind and let me return to the comfort of loves sweet glory. Return my mind to peace and restore my broken soul.

Of this I ask, and for this I pray.
