Barry Fuller is an English footballer that currently plays for Gillingham in League One of English football. Fuller has been with Gillingham since January 2008, having previously played for Charlton Athletic, Barnet, and Stevenage Borough.

Fuller is a product of the Charlton Athletic youth system, and although he captained the reserve side; never did he make it into the first team, and in January 2006 was loaned out to Barnet. With Barnet Fuller was able to establish himself as a quality player, proving to all that he is a defender with fantastic ability. 15 times Barry Fuller appeared for Barnet, and in this time he truly did grow and improve as a player.

Still not figuring in Charlton's first team plans; Barry Fuller was deemed surplus to requirements by the then management, and was therefore allowed to leave at the end of the 2005/06 season, and opted to join Stevenage Borough in the top flight of non-league football. 18 months Fuller spent with Stevenage, and under the careful management of Mark Stimson; Stimson was really able to get the best out of Fuller, and helped Barry Fuller improve even more as a player. Stimson left Stevenage in November 2007, leaving Barry Fuller behind at the club; Stimson was not to forget about Fuller though, and two months later brought him with him to Gillingham.

Fuller has figured heavily since joining Gillingham, and made 40 league starts for the club throughout the 2008/09 season. He's very much a first team favourite at Gillingham, and although he was not long ago playing in the non-league; he has quickly adapted to playing back in the Football League, and was rewarded for his fine form as he helped Gillingham to achieve promotion back to League One in the 2008/09 season.

Barry Fuller looks to have a fine future ahead of him at Gillingham, and looking forward the 24 year-old will no doubt go on to achieve a lot more in football. He's already improved massively in his time in professional football so far, and now has an excellent opportunity to prove his worth in League One with Gillingham. Barry Fuller is a very talented football defender, and Mark Stimson's faith in him has ultimately proven to be well placed as he has helped Gillingham Football Club to achieve great things in his time with the club thus far. Barry Fuller is a truly excellent player, and I'm sure that he'll continue to impress for Gillingham in the future.
