Older man younger woman: Debunking the myths of the past

It used to be not only acceptable, but in fact an encouraged arrangement, for a younger woman to marry an older man. There were a number of reasons why this type of relationship was considered morally reasonable. Well my apologies to all you older gentlemen out there, but it is time to be debunking a few of the myths of the past concerning older men, and younger women.

1. Older men are more financially secure:

In the past it was felt that older men were more financially secure. They had the advantage over younger men of having worked for a number of years. This allowing them the advantage of having acquired a home, a vehicle, and a reasonably sized bank account with the monies that they had earned from their many years in the work force. It was felt that a younger woman who married an older man was signing up for a very secure life for herself.

Sorry, but not so, absolute myth! A lot of older men are divorced, and as such have paid, or are still signed up for years of alimony and child support. They are also nearing the end of their high earning years and looking forward to a much reduced income as a senior citizen. Younger men have years of potential high earning years ahead of them.

2. Older men have sown their wild oats and are ready to settle down and raise a family:

If you are looking for a man who will provide you with the safety of a loving home environment then you might want to find someone closer to your own age to do this with. Many of the older men out there have already raised a family, or still have one on the go, and are really not all that interested in suffering the expense and time commitment that additional children would entail. There is also no age limitation on those who cheat, and an older man is quite likely to consider going through his mid life crisis by chasing younger women, you being one of them.

3. Older men are gentlemen:

Age does not make a man a better person. A younger man is just as apt to be a courteous suitor as an older man. Younger men are also more apt to be aware of the changing roles of women in today's society. They are more likely to help out with the childcare, and housework, in addition to their financial contribution to the family.

4. Older men are more experienced and therefore better able to please a woman sexually:

Not so. Older men did not usually receive formal sex education classes as their younger counterparts now do. Most older men generally acquired their sexual knowledge through the teachings of other men, pornographic movies or magazines, or through their sexual encounters. Unfortunately both pornography, and a lot of back room male discussions concerning sex, are highly inaccurate in their accounting of how to sexually please a woman. Some older men are even still under the mistaken belief that it is the woman's place to satisfy her husband without complaint, then to roll over, and go to sleep.

Fortunately younger men are now receiving sexual education courses which are teaching them the physical and emotional differences between men and women. Most are well aware of a woman's distinct needs in the bedroom, and are not only uninhibited enough to willingly comply with her wishes, but are also complimented by their accomplishments when they do an amazing job of pleasing their partner.

So girls, don't be listening to those who are busy broadcasting the virtues of older men and, take a closer look at that shy young guy who keeps trying to tell you that he likes you. He just might be worth taking a second look at.
