Alex MacDonald is a professional footballer that currently plays for Burnley in the English Premier League. MacDonald is a product of the Burnley youth system, and first entered the senior squad in the 2007/08 season. MacDonald made his debut not long after his 18th birthday, and has since gone on to make a number of appearances for the side.
Voted Youth Team Player of the Year in 2008, MacDonald is a definite Burnley star of the future, and with the striker already having made his first steps into the first team; it's surely only a matter of time before MacDonald features on a more regular basis for the club. MacDonald came on as a substitute three times in the FA Cup for Burnley in the 2008/09 season, as well as making three substitute appearances in the league. He's making definite progress at the club, and already has an excellent reputation as a striker.
MacDonald has to date made eight appearances for the Scottish Under-19 team, scoring seven times in the process. He's a promising young talent at club level, and perhaps a Scottish superstar of the future also. The fans love the young player, and all at the club are hoping that MacDonald can really crack the first team in the not too distant future. He definitely has the potential to play in the Premier League, and if he can continue to improve at the rate he has been then there's no reason whatsoever why Alex MacDonald can't go on to make it big with Burnley.
Burnley is a very impressive football team right now, and Alex MacDonald is one of the team's players that definitely looks very promising for the future. He's still only 19 years-old; already MacDonald is looking excellent though, and certainly isn't afraid of taking a shot when given the opportunity. Alex MacDonald is a striker that loves to score, and the fans always love to see him hit the net as well. He's got a cracking shot on him, and his superb shot should lead to him becoming a Premier League superstar in the future.
Alex MacDonald is still a very young player, and there's no doubt more to come from him yet; already MacDonald is showing strong signs for the future though, and is a player that Burnley manager Owen Coyle is really very pleased to have in his squad. He's not afraid of appearing in the big games, and his lack of fear and love for scoring provides for a very strong mix. Expect big things of Alex MacDonald in the future, and also don't be too surprised if we're hearing Alex MacDonald's name often for many years to come.
