He pleads for the truth
In spite of everything you have shattered by way
of your poisonous hands...in the face of dying eyes;
I still narrate the essence of a father and secrete
your lack of beneath my heart
The stains you have carved within his soul
sets off a violent flow of tears at whatever time
I breathe the air of his innocence
Your monetary goods, in no way compensates his longing
for his father's love
I closely hold him in my arms and hark back to my
belly that gave shelter to our child that was given a one percent
chance at life, and still I am puzzled by your cold heart
Baffled...I try to understand how you look at yourself each day
and refuse to utter a word to your son whose
likeness is plastered all over your mirror and wiped clean of any and
every chance at love
Your first words to him was a promise to be there,
yet my epiphany was the demise of your liability
In anticipation of the day when your heart fosters a father...I will be both
Until then, I can only ask of him that of which I ask of myself...
That we continue to avoid labeling you as a statistic, for the reason that,
we all can be taught by our inaccuracies
