There are many things to be considered when choosing a restaurant for a corporate event. One would think pricing would be the most important aspect in decision making. It is wise to consider pricing, however, when high financing is at stake, pricing would probably be the least considered, The type, quality, and style should be the first prioprity. One would hardly entertain top executives at a Burger King or White Castle, unless everyone involved had a yen for hamburgers and fast food.
The number of people being entertained should be a factor in choosing a restaurant. An establishment too small might make an event a little uncomfortable. Some of the patrons might feel a little too closed in or cramped. How much space is there to move around comfortably? Are all the rest areas easily accessible? All these things must be taken into account before any decisions are made. If a bar is in the restaurant, there should be enough room for everyone being entertained. One is not going to please a large crowd by being modest. Knowing the restaurant beforehand not only saves time, but makes the selection all the easier.
Knowing the clients likes and dislikes gives the planner an immediate advantage. It takes the guesswork out of choosing what type of restaurant to go to. Unfortunately, the decision still remains on where to dine. If the client has a few favorite places the choices can be narrowed down to a select few. It's been said before that not everybody likes the same things and you can't please everybody all the time. This rings true when taking your patrons likes and dislikes into consideration. A little caution and a little care goes a long way.
If someone must travel too far to get to the destination, he or she might re-consider attending the function. A restaurant that is centrally located and is easy to get to would be ideal for consideration. Another factor in making your choice is not picking a restaurant in a bad area where safety might be an issue. One would want to feel secure where they are being entertained without the use of bouncers. The proximity to your place of employment is worth looking into in cases of emergency. How fast could someone return if such a situation arose should be a priority.
The type of client you are entertaining is a definite must for consideration. Are they high corporate financiers? If so, one might want to go the extra mile and spend a little more for a higher end restaurant to ensure their well being and comfort. The end result may be well worth it. If it is just a re-acquaintance dinner, a more lax environment mjght just what you are looking for. A lounge that offers dining and dancing might be on the venue if a possible client just wants to have fun.
Pricing should be towards the bottom of the list when it comes to things being considered for choosing restaurant venues. It all depends on the client one is hosting. If it doesn't matter to your client, you won't have to be choosy and saving a dollar here and there shouldn't be a problem. If it is a higher end client, go the extra mile as previously mentioned and be prepared to spend a little more. The bottom line is to know your clients likes and dislikes beforehand, what and where they like to eat, and finally, go out and enjoy the evening.
