Ei8ht is a Hindi language (aka Bollywood) film in the supernatural genre.

Raj Rai lives with his older brother Suraj, his wife Radha and their young daughter Neetu in the UK. Raj has supernatural powers in that he can see the spirits of dead people hovering around and has a girlfriend Sadhavi who knows and understands about his powers. His brother is constantly on at him to get a proper job and in the course of him ridding a multi-millionaire of a vengeful spirit he meets Sapna and dumps his Sadhavi for her. A spirit called Kamini seems to be haunting Raj's family and they leave their home to go stay with Suraj's friend Balwant whilst trying to figure out how to get rid of this vengeful spirit.

Why is Kamini hell bent on destroying the Rai family? Can Raj actually get rid of this spirit which is threatening his whole family or is this one too close for his powers to work? Where do Sapna and Sadhavi fit into his plans?

The premise of Ei8ht could have been good had the outcome not been so predictable. I guessed why Kamini's spirit was after the family quite early on and was rather annoyed when it turned out I was right, I was hoping for something much more complicated.

One of the first things that annoyed me about this film was the lack of attention to detail. The film starts off with Raj at the fun fair on Brighton Pier (UK) with his niece who he loses somehow. He goes home after seemingly just looking for her for a few moments and gets shouted at by his brother and sister-in-law and then the police turn up with the little girl. The police are supposed to be British police but their accents are really dire. A short time later Raj is at the police station as he's had a premonition about something bad happening at the fun fair but which police station does he go to? Southall Police Station which is in Middlesex. He meets his girlfriend Sadhvi at the library regularly - which is weird as they have really loud and long conversations and no one seems to tell them to keep the noise down as would normally happen in a library - but hang on, this library happens to be Reading Central Library. Now being a Londoner myself I know that Brighton and its Pier are about 70 miles from Southall, and Reading is 30 odd miles away from Southall. The family supposedly lives in London, we see shots of Parliament House in London to indicate that the Rai family live in London but if this is the case, why would Raj take his niece 70 miles away to a funfair and
