Battlefield 2 is a first person shooter game made by the company DICE. It was released in North America on June 21, 2005. EA was the publisher. You can buy just the Battlefield 2 game for $10.
This game is a first person shooter/strategy/tactics game. It has many different elements. It is based on modern warfare.
In Battlefield 2 you can play as seven different types of players from many different nations. All of the nations have individual guns and character kits that you can play. This game has awesome multiplayer, or online gameplay. The seven different kits you can play as are: special forces, sniper, assault, support, engineer, medic, and anti-tank. Special forces main weapon is a type of machine gun. It is burst fire. Sniper, speaks for itself. Its main weapon is a sniper rifle. Assault, has a fully automatic machine gun. In some nations, it has a grenade launcher attachment. Support's main weapon is a big machine gun, almost like a gun emplacement. The engineer carries a shotgun. The medic has a little machine gun. And of course, can heal people. And the anti-tank has a rocket launcher. All of these kits contain more than one weapon. All include a knife and a pistol.
The object of the game is to capture all of the command posts, or destroy all of the enemy teams troops. When you first enter a game, you choose your kit and choose a command post to spawn at. Then you battle against other guys. There are a max of 64 people on the map at one time. 32 on each team.
On some maps, there are vehicles. Some of the vehicles include jeeps, tanks, helicopters, and planes. There are multiple seats in a lot of the vehicles. Allowing for people to ride with your team mates. There are gunner's seats and driver's seats. You can switch back and forth between seats, as long as there isn't someone in that seat already.
There are many different maps. Some maps allow more players than others, but still a max of 64 players. The detail of the terrain is magnificent. Every detail, from the trees, to the mountains, to the water. Each map consists of different terrains and buildings. Some maps take place in the forest, and others in the city.
There exist many, many different modifications, or mods, for this game. You can download most of these for free. There are also some expansion packs that add more maps, nations, and other things. Some of the more popular expansion packs include the Special Forces. There are also some big booster packs that work the same way as an expansion pack. These additions can be added on the the original game. You must have the original Battlefield 2 for these to work.
