Poetry: Bad friends

by Kristina Sullivan

Created on: June 24, 2009

The journey continues.
Another day another struggle.
I won't be done until I've won.
And even then I'll continue on
to the next adventure.
Always something going on.
I've got to stay busy.
Cause if I'm not at the top of my game
A hater may try to take my place.
But I ain't having that.
I know you wanna steal my spot.
Cause I'm the one on top.
But you ain't me.
I'm often imitated. Never duplicated.
You can try all you want
to get what I've got.
But, you're wasting your time.
Because I'm someone that you're not.
The battles I have fought.
The dues I have paid.
I am now deserving to have things my way.
If you're looking for the come up,
then open your eyes
and see what's up.
Game recognizes game.
I will not be played.
Find yourself.
And be the best you
you can be.
instead of the poor man's version of me.
